I have no idea what point this was but I was in no mood or pictures or visitors. Pain comes to mind, so does bathroom!

After this turn we had maybe an 1/8 mile to go. This was the best and hardest point. We wanted to finish strong...well, maybe we just wanted to finish

Pictures, pictures are always fun. I am sure you don't want to put pictures of you running and sweating, but you could put some pics of your motivation like your kids. Would love to see how they have grown. But otherwise I think your blog is great for what you are doing it for. It is a running blog. They aren't very exciting. My running blog has absolutely no readers whatsoever because it was just a little journal of my struggles and triumphs. My personal blog however gets a big amount of readers because I think people like the pictures more than the words. I sometimes don't even read blogs, but just look at the pictures. Keep it up though, I am reading.
